Let's use this picture and play with Virtual Painter!

I will make suggestions for different techniques and let you go from there. The technique I will be using mostly is "Oil Painting." In the Oil Painting dialog box, you can change textures.
You can change the focus by clicking, dragging, double-clicking, and expanding the resulting area you have selected. (Un-do focus area by right-clicking repeatedly until area is de-selected.)
Preview image and adjust "Material", "Rendering", "Colors", "Deformation", and "Focus" until you get the desired effect. See the next page for several examples and settings.
